Wendy Moncur

Prof Wendy Moncur has extensive expertise in collaborative interdisciplinary projects. She leads the Cybersecurity Group, StrathCyber, at the University of Strathclyde. She is PI on REPHRAIN project grant “Addressing Privacy Risks and Legal Challenges in the Emergent Use of Text-based Generative AI for UK Research”. She leads the Human Factors workstream on the £3.4million REPHRAIN-funded AP4L (Adaptive PETs to Protect & emPower People during Life Transitions) project which brings together experts from human-computer interaction, computer science, sociology, psychology, and criminology. Her work examines trust, identity, privacy and security online, with an emphasis on personal data. She has been Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on  £7.6 Million of funded projects since completing her PhD in Computer Science in 2011. Prior to this, she had an 18-year career in industry as an IT expert across utilities, manufacturing and banking sectors.
