The SELF-PROTECT project explores the problem of government threats to citizens’ digital privacy from the interdisciplinary perspectives of psychology and computer science. The objectives are to: (a) identify the range of government bodies’ threats to citizens’ digital privacy; (b) understand citizens’ understanding of and responses to these threats; (c) discover how citizens can protect themselves; (d) establish whether citizens would protect themselves if they had the information about privacy-protective technologies.
