Carl Dickinson is a Research Associate at Newcastle University’s School of Computing. His expertise lies in examining and establishing trust between farmers, smart technology, stakeholders, and decision algorithms in agricultural cyber-physical systems. As a part of the AgriTrust project within the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub, Carl has collaborated with international teams across various institutions, engaging with academic and industrial partners in R&D activities.
In addition to his work on trust in AgriTech, Carl has designed sensor boxes that monitor soil and ambient conditions, relaying data to stakeholders such as farmers through a LoRa WAN network. With a keen interest in AI, Carl specializes in computer vision and conducts research on assessing overhead assets owned by electrical utility companies.
