Kostantinos Papadamou

Dr. Kostantinos Papadamou is a Research Fellow on the PROACTIVE project with Dr. Emiliano De Cristofaro as part of REPHRAIN — National Research Centre on Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial Influence Online. Kostantinos holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Cyprus University of Technology. His research interests lie in the fields of social networks analysis, security in social networks, fake news, deep learning, big data analysis, and authentication security. In the context of his PhD thesis, he focused on characterizing abhorrent, misinformative, and mistargeted content on YouTube working on several projects that involve big data analysis and deep learning.

 

During his PhD studies, Kostantinos also worked on various EU-funded projects related to identity management on the Web, authentication security, and Big Data and Social Network analysis. In the context of these projects, he developed several cross-platform Web and Mobile applications, and he had the technical lead of most of these projects.

 

From May to November 2018, Kostantinos worked as a Research Intern at Telefonica Research in Barcelona, Spain, where he studied the problem of inappropriate YouTube videos targeting young children utilizing deep learning, big data analysis, and graph analysis.
